ipod update

hello, i have the newest version of itunes its like 7.5 or something, and i have the new ipod nano.How do you update your ipod on your computer while after you update it all your songs are deleted? i did it once but i dont know how to do it again, i would really appreciate it thanks!

i have itunes 6.0 but i figured i'd answer anyways, just in case it works =]

when you plug your ipod in it should say "update itunes to version [whatever the newest version is]" or most likely "register your ipod"
click NO

after that your ipod should upsate the songs and you should be fine, worked for me
