I was wondering a couple of things about shampooing your hair:
A) How often is it recommended to wash your hair? I've heard that it all depends on hair type and condition.. I usually wash my hair every other day to preserve some natural oils (I have healthy, thick, slightly wavy hair). But I'm confused- I've heard different things.
B) Is it good to alternate shampoos? I have heard mixed things about this as well, that it's good for your hair, or is it unnecessary?
Additional info, added Thursday January 17 2008, 3:52 pm: Regarding (B), I mean using two different shampoos during the week, and alternating between the two.. a) keep doing what you're doing. it really isn't good for your hair to be washed every day. if you get really sweaty and gross one day in between washings, it's ok to shampoo again though
b) I use 4 different shampoos at once, so it should be ok to mix. just use a little of each at a time so as not to dry out your hair [ chickchat17's advice column | Ask chickchat17 A Question ]
Amazing_April answered Thursday January 17 2008, 5:28 pm: It would be best to do it every other day. If you wash it everyday it will strip it of it's natural oils. Alternating shampoos reduces the amount of residue or build-up of product in your hair. If your hair gets that, here's a trick- Use about a handful of Vinegar with warm water in your hair before you wash it. It will cut out all of the product build-up.
