Question Posted Monday January 14 2008, 3:26 pm

I am 15/f and I have brown tags all over my neck. Usually you are supposed to get these when you are MUCH MUCH older and I'm getting them on me now....and it really lowers my self esteem because I already have problems with my self esteem because of my body, don't get me wrong, I love my life and I'm not gonna do anything drastic
but what should I do? I'm going to a dermetologist but my mom said there realy is nothing you can do about it because it grows back. Am I abnormal? What is wrong with me??
Thanks in waaaay advance.

You really shouldn't worry about it. But if it really bothers you, your dermatologist should give you suggestions. Unless its a skin reaction from irritation, try putting foundation over it that is the same skin color as yours or a lotion that helps alter skin color when you go out and don't want it to be seen.

And no your not abnormal, you body is simply reacting differently to something than most people would. A lot of people are different like that. So don't feel like a freak or something okay?

If the skin tags are irritated, or if you want them removed for cosmetic reasons, treatment may include freezing the tags with liquid nitrogen or surgery.

You aren't abnormal. Don't worry so much. Good luck at the dermatologist!
