I downloaded Audacity but when I open the song on there and try to play it back, its only like 2 seconds of scribble sounds..?

OK. This is the part I mentioned about making sure that the song file was .mp3 or .wav format. Most likely, it is in .wma format, or Windows Media Player format. You can find programs that will convert those files to .mp3 for free, as long as they aren't protected files. If you can do it with unprotected music, like from CD's and not purchased online music, then it should work. Hope that helped.
