complement
something that completes or makes perfect: A good dessert is a complement to a good meal.

A complIment is a positive comment you give to someone. "I love your blouse!" "Your shoes are soo cute." ... etc.
A complEment is something that works for another thing, or makes it better. "That brown complements the blue." "Those new curtains complement the shape of the window." (Think of 2 things complImenting each other. :]) ]
