I'm looking for a new, affordable digital camera....

Question Posted Monday December 31 2007, 4:50 pm

For what its worth, which camera is better: Canon PowerShot SD600 ($528) or Canon PowerShot SD1000 ($160)? Which takes sharper, clearer, more detailed and more vibrant-colored photos with lifelike depth?

canon makes a great camera, so you can't go wrong either way. however, of course, the higher priced one will be a higher quality- but that's like closer to professional quality. it depends on how much money you're willing to spend though. are you just wanting to take pictures of normal stuff for normal reasons, or are you wanting to go into a photography profession? the powershots are awesome, and the SD1000 sounds like a great camera for the money. that's probably the one i'd go with.

they're both really good cameras. I had a 1000 but I got a 600 for Christmas...I really like both of them...I don't think you can go wrong either way. The 600 takes better moving shots though.

I got the Canon Powershot SD1000 for Christmas, and I love it! It has so many cool things and different settings for certain conditions. I can't really compare it to the other, since I've never used it, but I'm happy with the SD1000. :]
