Height.

Question Posted Monday December 31 2007, 1:59 pm

Okay I was just thinking about my height and felt like asking this..

My mom is 5'2, my dad is 5'11.
My sister is about half an inch taller than my mom and my brother is about 6ft.

I'm 16 at the minute, and 5'3 and a half. What are the chances of me being any taller?
Considering I don't take after my mum in ANY way (physically or character wise -- I'm like a little female clone of my dad), I thought I might get a little taller (although obviously not as tall as my dad haha)but either I was wrong or I'm about to grow some more.

I'm not really bothered, just curious.

I am female, 44 years old, 5'2".

I stopped growing when I was thirteen. Of course, I didn't realize that I had stopped till several years later...

You say you're not bothered by this; I hope this is true. It's made very little difference in my life.

Just be yourself, and know that whatever "height" you achieve, you're all YOU.

It depends. I'm guessing you have your period already? Doctors say that 2-3 years after your period you pretty much reach your full height, within 2 inches. Although, they aren't always right, and some people have their growth spurt between 16 and 18.

Nobody here can give you an answer. Height, along with many other things associated with genetics. You could acquire height genes from the female side of your dad's family, or two generations back from your mom's. Its totally random.

For example, take me-- my mom's 5'10", dad 5'11", brother 6'3", and I'm... barely 5'3". :]

Whatever height you are, be proud of it. Besides, us shorties get to wear the cutest heels. :]
