prepaid phone

Question Posted Monday December 31 2007, 12:58 am

okay the cell phone i have right now is not a prepaid phone.
the battery is messed up and i know i could just get a new battery but i just want a new phone. and i dont want to buy it from alltel because i'd have to extend the contract and its not under my name, so i don't want to get into that. so i'v looked on craigslist and i am currently trying to find one on there. but i went to walmart today and they have prepaid phones for alltel. so if i bought a prepaid phone from walmart and didnt buy minutes on it and took it to the alltel store would they be able to flash over all of my contacts and service to the prepaid phone without that phone having prepaid minutes. i'v talked to the people at alltel and they said it would be free to switch the phones if i bought a used phone from someobody else.
so would that be possible? sorry its so long.
