most of my friends have the new aim. i have the old like..5.9 one. Should i switch? What are the benefits of the new one, and does it slow down your computer more. Does it have better virus protection also?!

I always used AIM 5.9 but randomly I switched to AIM 6.5 to see what it was like. I like it so much better than AIM 5.9. It's not really slow, it's beta which makes it a bit different. What's cool is you can change the colors on your buddylist. You can also customize different things. It looks a lot more stylish. It does have grouping IM, which I personally dislike, but you don't have to use it. You can go into the settings & switch it to regular IM's which is what I did. I think AIM 6.5 is easier to use & just looks a lot nicer. Randomly, my AIM 5.9 would have an error & it would sign me off. No problems with AIM 6.5 so far. I think the virus protection is better because it's the newest version.

I like the new one; it allows you to use a "status message" and the colors are pretty sweet.
