advice on figuring it all out

Question Posted Sunday December 30 2007, 2:39 am

I lost my good job in michigan, got married, and had a baby within the last year. I been bouncing from bad job to bad job, running out of money, and I am under so much stress it's taking years off of my life so badly I can feel it. How do I try to take it one step at a time, or at least look to other sources for help? I apply to about 120 jobs a month, but nobody is hiring, and I can't afford to move out of state for work, let alone take my wife, my newborn, and my 2 year old stepdaughter looking for work with me.....PLEASE HELP ME!

Honey, sit back and take a few deep breaths. now, what you need to do is to stop bouncing back and forth between bad jobs. Take more time and consideration with the jobs you apply to, and make sure they are fitted to your skills. Dont simply take any job because it's there, it has to be something you can actually do, that will actually pay decent money.

There may be a few options for you. First, look to see if you have a local temp to hire agency that will do the job searching for you. This may help eliminate undue stress. Secondly, if you don't mind doing construction work,or know how to do it, you could always drive around looking for companies that are building new houses. If you take your own tools, they may offer you work on the spot. Secondly, can you do computer work or any other specialty work? If so, you could put an ad in the newspaper offering your services. Another thing to consider, going to college. I am currently enrolled in University of Phoenix, and I take all my classes online through their Axia College division. This may help you get a college degree and land a better job. I hope I have helped. Good Luck.
