This is casual dancing right? Like at a party where they play songs and there's no like ballroom or salsa or anything, right? Well, hon, the only way to dance like that IS to just move to the beat of the music. Look around at the people around you. Watch them and just imitate it. The problem isn't that you "can't" go with the music, but it is that you don't have the confidence to. Just tell yourself that you can have fun and that's what it's all about. NO ONE will laugh at you or anything. Trust me. Just sort of start to move to the beat, and look at people around you for inspiration.

First off, don't worry. At the very worst, you will be one of many bad dancers on the floor. You want to be good so it can happen. Your best bet is to ask your older sister if you have one or a good friend's older sister. Girls are more comfortable with dancing, so they will know best. If you wanted, you could just slow dance and that isn't much more than 2 people holding each other and shuffling your feet. If you have the nerve to try, you have most of the battle won.
