im so stuck
ok so i was in a wonderful relationship for 1 year and 4 months. we recently broke up about 2 weeks ago because he really hurt me and broke my trust which is very hard to get. hes apologized so much and is trying so hard to prove he loves me and get me back but i just cant let it go so were currently not together.
last week, i met this guy at school and ive been talkin to him everyday since. i hung out with him yesterday and hes such a sweetheart. i barely know him, and i still love my ex, so i dont really have feelings for him, but hes such a gentlemen.. way more than my ex and the kind of guy i and my mom always wanted for me. he treats me like a princess already and hes just so caring.
now i dont know what to do. i dont necessarily want to be with him, but hes making me see what kind of guy i want. i love my ex so much, but i just wish hed treat me like this other guy does. he knows ive been talking to him, and he doesnt like it all, which is irritating because hes always guilt tripping me about it unintentionally or whining. but he is my first love and i cant imagine the rest of my life without him.. we were very serious even talking engagement.

You should explain to your ex why this guy has caught your interest. Tell him that if he were to treat you the way this other guy does, that would be great.
However, what if he doesn't want to strive to be a gentleman? Or if he only does it for a while?
You obviously know what kind of guy you want to grow old with. Right?
Why settle for less than you deserve just because he is your first love? Because if he can't treat you the way you deserve to be treated, and do things for you that make you feel good about yourself, then you are settling for second best.
