Christmas Presents

Question Posted Monday December 3 2007, 7:12 pm

13/f

I don't have like a ton of really close friends. Like maybe 2-7. So for X-Mas, I'm getting my friends gifts, small ones, but gifts nonetheless. I want to know if I should give presents to the 5 or so close friends and ignore the rest or give gifts to all my friends? Then I am faced with what should I give to casual school acquaintances, if anything? Then that would make up most everyone I know, but I wouldn't want people in my homeroom that I don't know particularly well feel bad. And should I gender-base it? Like give gifts to all my girl friends, or both boy and girl friends or what? I need to seem generous and nice, but not snobby by not giving gifts to some people. And should I give presents to teachers? Thanks in advance to whoever can help me with this mess.

1. Get a budget.
2. Decide how much of that money you want to spend on close friends, no matter how many.
3. Divide the money and buy all the close friends gifts. Get all the same things to make it fair ? The more friends the less expensive the gift I guess but it doesn't have to cost lots!
4. Spend the rest on cards and candycanes for the others! :)

If theres too many people don't give them anything. Then no one will feel left out, you can't forget about anyone, less stress.
Also don't make it obvious you've given the close friends gifts. It might make other friends feel bed..

Hope I helped.
PS. Maybe I ask why your asking so early ?

Personally, I would just give gifts to my closest friends. Male and female. Make cookies, or something of the sort, to give to the rest of your friends. Male and female.

Why should you feel obligated to give gifts to everyone else? They can exchange gifts with their own friends. That doesn't make you a bad guy. So what if they get jealous? It's not like they are among your friends. Right?

here's what i've always done in the past. i normally give candy or candy canes to everybody (no teacher gifts though), and then the friends that i do decide to get things for, i give it to them after school, or i go to their house and give it to them. just so that nobody else will see. that way, nobody's jealous. for now, just get the girls gifts, and if you have enough money for guys, you can do that too if you want. i am 16/f, and i normally don't get gifts for my random guy friends (though one of my best friends is a guy). i only really buy friend gifts for like 4 or 5 people each year. you won't have a problem if you give actual gifts in private, and that way you can carry around a bag of candy canes and hand them out at school. also, if you really want to give teacher presents, that is fine, but nobody really does that at my school unless they want the teacher to give them better grades. haha :)
