Graphics card

Question Posted Saturday November 24 2007, 10:48 pm

I downloaded this MMORPG (massive multiplayer online role playing game) called Warrock. It's a bit laggy and I heard that some kind of graphics card can help make it less laggy and maybe improve graphics. Is that true? How much do they cost? Where can I buy one? (are places like BestBuy,Walgreens,CVS,Circuit City good?) And what kind do I need? I have a Windows XP if that helps because I heard the computer has to support a certain type of graphics card.

My husband got an ATI Radeon X1600 pro 512 MB graphics card:

He got it from Best Buy, and it cost about $200. Not cheap, but playing games on the computer is amazing.

If you search online, you can surely find a better deal if this is what you want.

If it helps, we have an HP desktop with Windows XP Media Center edition 2005.

I don't know if this is what you are looking for, exactly, with the high price tag, but I can tell you this one has worked excellently for us.

1) PC or Laptop?
2) Intel or AMD ?
3) Motherboard : PCI or PCI Express? (if dont know then the motherboard model number, this should be available on the manual/at the bios screen)
4) Whats is your budget?

Provide these details and i could help you choose a card.
for MMRPGS, you dont need a fancy card, a Radeon 2xxx series or an nvidia 7xxx series should do.
And they should be available for around 50$

Let us know what is yout configuration
Cheers
