karenR answered Sunday November 11 2007, 12:37 am: Some people think they will get more answers to their questions if they write "I rate 5's" on it.
It doesn't help. Matter of fact I personally would never answer them at all. Now I delete them. :)
I am a L2 moderator and can see this is your first question. When you ask a question, you get to "rate" the answers. Since you have not asked one before you probably didn't know that.
So, note to others answering this question, don't give a smart ass answer. It is a reasonable question in these circumstances.
We encourage people to rate their answers. We also want them to rate fairly. Giving everyone a 5, even if they give you a bad answer doesn't teach them to give good answers.
Now when we see someone write "I rate 5's", we usually just delete the question. Says right on the question asking page not to do it. [ karenR's advice column | Ask karenR A Question ]
