Need to break a bad habit!!!

Question Posted Saturday October 20 2007, 11:14 pm

Okay, this is a little embarassing, but I have a bad habit of picking at any scabs that are on my skin... HOW DO I BREAK IT?!?!?!?!? I don't want to end up with any scars, but I probably will. Any suggestions would be wonderful. THX in advance!

Try to keep your hands busy doing something else. Knitting, writing, playing cards, sewing--anything that uses your hands can help you.

If you do it without realising it, a bandaid as suggested might help. If you have someone you trust and don't mind talking to about it, you could ask him or her to tell you when you're doing it, if they see.

Rewards might also help. If you go a week without picking at your scabs, buy yourself something small as a treat--new lipgloss, a necklace, a book, something like that.

Best of luck.

Maybe by putting a bandaid over them, that'll help you to try and stop that.
