ok my best friend is seriously suicidal hes turning to me for help and i dont know what to say. hes tried killing himself before but backed out that was after his gf split with him now the other night he got drugged and rapped by a guy he turned to me and confided in me about it i think this could be the final straw for him im really worried bout him but i dont know wat i can do because his parents know about all this and there giving out to him and threatenen him can you give me some advice as to how to get him to cope with all this and also if he phones me and is ready to kill himself what to say to talk him out of it im worried this could happen at any time and if he looks to me for help and i cant give it ill feel responsible if he does something!!

You can't stop him and change his mind, you just don't have the ability to do so. He needs professional help, and if his parents for some reason aren't willing to help, a good choice to start with might be a school guidance counselor. Go there with him so he doesn't feel alone, and seriously stay outside the office for a minute or two if you can to make sure he doesn't just leave without talking to anyone.
