why do some schools have early decision II freshman? what is that?

early decision is early decision but some schools have something weird..

Early decision is for freshmen students who really want to attend that particular university. If you chose to apply to college with this option make sure that the university is a first choice for you. This is because if you are accepted you are usually obligated to attend the college and must turn down any other college or university you are accepted to.
