Boyfriend is depressed because he's bored.

Question Posted Saturday September 29 2007, 3:54 am

I don't know what to do. My boyfriend is getting depressed. Because he has nothing to do and apparently nothing to look forward to at the moment. He's not content with his job and is not with school.

He had to stop a hobby a while ago. He won't be able to continue any time soon. And he's too stubborn to find an interest in something else.

He even think it's boring to play video games now, which he used to love! What can I do to help him?

Because of this, he doesn't really feel like coming to see me. He thinks we'll end up doing something boring.

I'm running out of ideas. What do you think would be fun?

You can't solve this with only "fun" things. Bring him to a counselor, and see if various depression medications are right for him. Try finding good things to do, like a new sport. Help him find a new job, one that will make him happy. And don't let him quit school. School will help him find the career that he really wants. Best of luck to both of you.
