Sensitive

Question Posted Thursday September 27 2007, 8:52 pm

Hey everyone,
I am a very loud and outgoing person- but I know how to control myself. I have a big group of friends, but out of them I have...or had, two best friends. We were at homecoming pep rally bonfire at my high school tonight, and I noticed my friend Colleen had been ignoring me. She gets really sensitive over EVERYTHING, and always calls me to just say what all my flaws and imperfections are. She tries to make me jealous with all my other friends, and it hasn't really bothered me too much up until tonight. It started when I was watching a frisbee game- and behind me I heard someone say "Have you heard, someone said that Ryan(kid who is going to homecoming with her), doesnt really want to go with Colleen.". So- I went to my group of friends (Colleen wasnt there yet), and I told Ryan's cousin. I had her call him, and just clear everything up. We all agreed not to tell Colleen- because everything was all cleared up now, and we didnt want her to have another immature temper tantrum. So of course, this girl , Tanya, goes and tells Colleen about our conversation even though we all swore to secrecy. So Colleen and Tanya both gang up on me and the rest of my friends (those 2 against maybe us 8), and at this time we didnt really think she was mad at us. So we were listening to the bands play, and my friend Emily was trying to call over Colleen to show her something - and Colleen doesnt answer so I said "Colleeeeeeeeeen!" a little louder than Emily and all of a sudden she starts bawling her eyes out... and screams "CAMILLE I HATE YOU SHUT THE #%$#%(not a good word...lol) UP"!. None of my friends expected it besides tanya, because right before I yelled to Colleen she wispered in Colleens ear and took a walk around the track with her trashing me. So no one knows why, and whatever. Sorry this is really long, but I am on the verge of locking myself in a shed and drinking endless bottles of snapple. What do I do- and this has happened before, because tanya likes to medle, and colleen is super sensitive.

help=[. everyone is getting sick of this and its really annoying.

Some consideration of your friend's feelings is extremely important in this situation. She isn't being "immature". It's reasonable that she got upset about Ryan not wanting to be with her. That's hurtful and insulting. While you didn't do anything wrong per se, you weren't helping. It would be nice if you did. She's your friend. She doesn't need you to calling her oversensative or judging her. Try having a little compassion.
