Question Posted Tuesday September 25 2007, 5:22 am
Is there a way to find out how many downloads and hits various artists get each week or month in a specific list of countries (Asia), on i-Tunes, Limewire or similar internet based products where people download or buy their music? (From Hong Kong)
Since most of the stuff on networks like limewire's is illegal, the networks are built to withstand monitoring. You could figure out the IPs of people downloading certain files, which will show their location, but that would take so much time that it's not worth it. It would seriously take months. Because of the way Peer-to-Peer networks and the Internet operate, the results wouldn't be very accurate anyway. [ theymos's advice column | Ask theymos A Question ]
