"Be the first to answer this!"
Is it just me or does it seem like since the "be the first to answer these" and "questions that might need more answers" boxes came up, people only answer questions from there, and it takes so much longer for you to get answers. I could be wrong.. but what do you think? Like it seems like less people actually click "random question" or "view questions" so you get less answers..and when you do get answers because your question got on the "be the first to answer these" list, it usually seems like the person just answered the question to be the first to answer it.. instead of them actually knowing the answer or being able to relate to the problem.. (I dont mean to critize anyone!! i promise!) i just wanted to know if anyone else is getting the same feeling..

Here is how it works for all who don't know. We had a real problem before the boxes with some questions not getting any answers at all. New questions would come on the site and shove the ones already on further and further back to page 10. Where nobody ever goes to look for questions!
So, we now approve questions 10 at a time for the "Be the first box" No other questions can come on site until those 10 get an answer.
Then they move to "need more answers box" where they get one more answer before being released. This insures each question gets at LEAST 2 answers. Hopefully more.
Right now there is a slowdown of people answering questions. At last look we were 2 days behind. So we need more people to answer more questions. If we were still just releasing all the questions most would get buried with no answers on the back pages.
I do believe if any one person just goes nuts and only answers first questions, DN will ask them to please allow others the chance to answer them.
