Well, if he ends up disliking you well all you can do is just tell him how sorry you are but it's good that your being honest imagine if you weren't gonna tell him the secret and he finds out he would really dislike you for not being honest so what your doing is good and if he does end up getting mad just let me him calm down he'll get over it.
