when i get older and go off birth control can i get pregnant?

I am on birth control to regulate my period.. and i've tried going off it but i NEED it to regulate my period i've been off and on it for 2 yrs now nothing more solid then 6 months so I don't think its QUITE enough time to fully regulate me but my question is.. when i get older and go off this birth control can i get pregnant? Also what if i dont regulate.. can i still get pregnant? I want to have a family. Please take this very seriously, sometimes i lie awake thinking about it!

Maybe give some free advice about: General Sex Questions? redhotchic answered Saturday September 8 2007, 11:59 am: yes, when you get older and decide to get off the Pill ,and have sex you will have a greater chance of gettin pregnant. cauz you have to be on the Pill for 7 days straight before the Pill will be to its full capacity to work effectively, if you dont want to get pregnant. if you're bleeding when you're not suppossed to while you're on the Pill, that means that the Pill you're currently on isnt working as well as it is suppossed to, so yes you will have a greater chance of getting pregnant if you're bleeding through, so if you dont want to get pregnant id go to my doctor and ask for a stronger dose of the Pill.....
