Do you recommend waxing your upper lip?

I agree, Waxing will be for logical for that area, but also keep in mind that along with other waxings, you need to keep it up. The hairs will always come back, and somtimes darker. If this is a task you are willing to keep up, then I say go ahead.

If you need to remove your upper lip hair, I do recomment waxing. Shaving is a lot worse and waxing completley removoes it. My friend does it and it's totally fine.
