blood blisters under toenails.

Question Posted Sunday August 26 2007, 10:17 am

i got really bad blood blisters under my toenails from cross country. if this helps, my big toenails are purple. i took a needle and put it through my toenail so that all the blood would come out, but it really hurt. i don't know if i want to do it to the other one. is there any other ways to get rid of it?

This is coming from someone who has had any type of blister you can imagine from Cross Country.

There are bandaids that are made for blisters, they are from the brand BANDAID and come in different sizes, and come for toes and fingers.

Those work fabulously, but they tend to come off in water. After a shower make sure your foot is dry, then put it on.

Try and stop the friction that is causing the blister to appear. Tie your shoe tighter at the toe so it doesn't slip as much, or if there is a part in your shoe that is what is bothering it, try covering it with something. Two pairs of socks works to reduse friction, as does putting some Vasoline on it before putting your shoes on.

At night take the bandaids off and let it the air get out it, so it can dry up easier.

Hopefully that helps some. Good luck.

i just looked online for treatment and the said basically the best and only way is to swab your toe with alcohol then ple a hole with a needle and drain the blood, then cover the whole witha bandage. if it still hurts then elevate and ice.
sorryyy im sure it really hurts!
hope that helped though
