Im pretty sure you pronounce it like the name Luke, but in plural. Well everyone I know pronounces it like that, so I think its correct. I dont think its like cooks, more like lukes. But obviously, with a K instead of L.

I'm pretty sure the band got the name from the definition of kook which is a strange/crazy person. If so, it's pronounced kuk, not cook. If you go to the website & click the pronunciation of it you can hear it.
Plus, I only heard it pronounced 'kuk'.
