a little more info, we used to be best friends, but he changed a lot, and now we're always fighting, and barely friends.

The reason people send lyrics is it takes the heat off of coming up with your own way of saying things. You can take someone else's words and it still seems like an original thing. It's easier than talking face-to-face. Plus, it's harder to disappoint with a song.
