hey i'm Candace, and i'm 15.
my next door neighbor, matt, and i have been best friends since birth practically. He's my age. last summer he had feelings for me but i turned him down because he's like a brother to me.
His best guy friend, tim, and i have been talking& flirting on and off for about 2 years. we've liked each other off and on during this time but we never got the chance to take it further due to distance.
Now i hang out with my matt more then i have in the past couple months and tim is there. we both like eachother A LOT now but i dont know if it can work, because of matt. I feel that it may be awkward. do you think i should let Tim go, or go for it?

You made it clear to Matt that you only like him as a friend and is like a brother to you, so Matt should take it pretty clearly. Take it from me, I made it clear to my best friend we couldn't go out cause I saw him like a brother and didn't want to ruin the friendship. So if he still doesn't get it, try telling him that you don't want to ruin a perfectly good friendship and make it clear to him that you like Tim. (But only try this if you really want to). If you and Tim like each other like you said, you deserve to be together and be happy. It maybe awkward but it could help if maybe trying to talk to Tim and finding a girl for Matt, so he can be occupied, and it wouldn't be so awkwad and then all of yall could go as a double date if you wanted to. Don't be doubtful. So go for it you deserve to be happy, and Tim will get his too w/ another girl. Hope I helped. [ phatdopelove's advice column | Ask phatdopelove A Question ]
