My period has always been kind of, since I gotten it. It has never been on time sometimes I dont even get it every month sometimes I skip a month and it's just so stressful. Well last time I had it was june 24th and now it's Aug 15th still no period. I know I am not pregnant I tested myself 5 times...it's like this everytime. I just waste money buying pregnancy tests for no freaking reason. And I also know that it's not healthy when you don't have your period...every month. I am 23 now it should be regular by now. And if I go to the gyno I know they'll put me on birth control which I dont want. What else could be the problem. Any help would be really appreciated. Thank you !

LaceyIsPrettyBomb answered Thursday August 16 2007, 11:34 am: Many women are like that. I know you said you dont want to go on birth control, but thats the only way to regulate your period. On birth control, you'll know exactly when your period will start and when it will end. Lots of women go on birth control the regulate themselves. So to stop the stress of never knowing when your going to get your period, you should deffinetly consider birth control. [ LaceyIsPrettyBomb's advice column | Ask LaceyIsPrettyBomb A Question ]

Most women do not have regular periods. If
you consider normal to be every 26-28 days.
Sometimes it is a little longer than that,
sometimes less than that. Most of the time
it is a combo of both. :)
The only way to avoid wondering if you are
pregnant is to use adequate birth control.
Amenorrhea (having no period), can be caused
by being overweight. You can also skip periods
if you are athletic. Intense exercise, such
as running can make your period stop all
together.
