I go to a vocational high school. Basically, you spend half the school year learning a trade, and the other half in accelerated academic classes. I chose a "non-traditional" shop, meaning very few girls choose it. There's only four girls in a class of sixteen, and the other three want to transfer out. So I'm the only girl there that completely loves the course.
Some people are accepting of this when I tell them what I chose, and others will ask me "Well, why did you choose that shop? It's for guys, not a lady like you!" How can I deal with them? Any witty comebacks?
Honestly, LM, if you let people tell you what's supposedly "right" and "wrong" according to them- where are you going to get in life? Nowhere. Are you going to accomplish what YOU want to do? No.
DO WHAT YOU WANT. If people can't accept your choices because its supposedly not "gender appropriate" for a girl to take a shop class- then screw them. Sorry- but its true. Just ignore these life-less excuses for people.
