ok this may be a stupid question but i need to know do you need a passport to go from the US to the UK and if so how do you get one and do they cost money or anything is there a certain age you have to be to get one just could someone explain to me like the process of gettin one and stuff please and thanks in advance

You usually need a passport to leave your country. I have found an online application form for US citizens, about a 1/4 of the page down lists the fees for different age groups.
