Breakfast

Question Posted Friday August 10 2007, 7:50 pm

If you go out to breakfast and you're on a diet, what would be a good meal to get? Something that is somewhat low in calories and low in sugar/fat? I'm really into anything other than plain oatmeal [which is what they serve at most restaurants]. It will probably be some type of diner. Any ideas/suggestions? Thanks!

Hmm..I'd say for yummy but low in fat and sugar but tastes good..these are what I'd go for:

-Breakfast Wraps (Like burrito wraps)

-Omelet

-Things with fruit

-Fat-free yogurt

-Muffins

-Low fat pancakes (ask the restaurant)

-A good fruit bar (though I don't think they have those at a restaurant..)

-If that place makes drinks such as smoothies and you are allowed to say whatever you want, you can tell them to make sure to blend in thier most fresh fruits and don't include sugar or put like 1/4 amount of sugar that they would usually put in (hey noone barely wakes up to go somewhere for breakfast so you can tell them =])

-My best answer would be fresh fruit topped with low-fat yogurt and crispy whole-grain cereal

Some high fat meals in McDonalds consists of Egg McMuffin, Sausage McMuffin and hash brown patties so try to avoid those, whether form McDonalds are not cuz they're greasy.

Hope that helped!
