If someone has read Ironside by Holly Black can you please help me with the ending.

I don't understand how Kaye was able to complete the quest. She explained it to Roiben, but I still don't understand. If she couldn't lie then how was she able to state that she could. What was the loophole/riddle?

Scroll down 3-4 books, and there is an explanation of the book and how the ending is confusing.
Other than that, I got nothing.
