Electric Moped

Question Posted Monday July 30 2007, 10:10 pm

I'm a 13 year old female. So I was thinking about getting an electric moped that I would drive myself and my friends around the neighborhood (it's a 2 seater.) I wouldn't go out of my neighborhood and stuff and my neighborhood is a quiet out of the city neighborhood. Is it against the law to get one and ride it in my neighborhood without a license? I live in Rhode Island if that helps...

You probably need a motorcycle license to ride to one.

So you have to wait until you 15 years old.

You need a valid driver's license.

Check Rhode Island's VTL if you want to see for yourself.

I don't think its illegal sweety and it is just really a moterized scooter. I say idt should be fine but ask your parents. They'll probally know the law better and can tell you if its okay:)
