im getting a new computer and i was wondering that on my old computer am i going to lose all my songs that are on itunes or does my itunes account actually save my songs so when i login on my new computer will my songs be there?

No, it won't save them. But I used this program called "Music Rescue". Download it (it's free) and just plug your iPod in. It transfers music, videos, etc onto your new computer from your iPod. Greatest thing since sliced bread ;]
