I'm from Connecticut too!
and basically the person below me said it all.
But make sure when you schedule your DMV appointment that you send in the application at least a month before you can actually get your license.. like 3 months after you get your permit because you will probably get your test date around 2 months after you send it in. Unless the driving school does it for you. Mine offered but for extra money.. so i made the appointment myself.
you can find the rules in the Connecticut DMV booklet you get after you get your permit.
Also if you take your test at New Britain or Waterbury or Winsted I think it is.. it's really easy! =] goodluck! ]
Haha, an answer I can answer 100% correct because I live in Connecticut.
You have to be 16 to get your permit. If you go to driving school, you have to wait at least 4 months to get tested for your license. If you don't go to driving school, you have to wait at least 6 months, take drug and alcohol classes, then you can test for your license. When you have your license, for the first 3 months you have to drive with family only. Then for the next 3 months, you can drive alone. After 6 months, you are allowed to drive with anyone.
No one follows those rules though, not even the cops really, haha! ]
