Play Football

Question Posted Monday July 16 2007, 1:56 pm

15/M
Hi I am a student at a school in Alabama that does not have a football team. We have other sports teams like soccer and basketball but no football. Could I play football for another nearby school while remaining at the first school. Please I really need a straightforward answer on this one.

i'm almost 100% positive that you can play a sport for another school if your school doesn't have it..i mean its not your fault ur school doesnt have it, so you should be able to

It couldn't hurt to ask your sports cordinator about it.
My school doesn't have a wrestling team, but kids from my school wrestle on another schools team.
I know it's not the same as football, but you could try it.
Good Luck.

i doubt that you could play at another school. actually, i think there is something in the uil rules that all athletes on a competing team (such as a football team) have to be enrolled at the school they are playing for. you could call the athletic office at another school and see if you could practice or play with their team, but i really think that you can't do that as long as the team competes in uil activities (which would basically be like a friday night football game). i'm sorry, but you could look in your yellow pages and see if there is a football league not associated with school in your city. otherwise, you would probably have to switch schools to play football, unless you can persuade your athletic office to form a team.
