Prednisone
I need help. I have to take Prednisone for a week due to an allergic reaction to Amoxcillian. It says one of the side effects of Prednisone is weight gain. I have an eating disorder & I'm scared to death. I worked so hard to get where I am with my weight & I don't know what to do. Since I'm only taking Prednisone for a week [7 tablets] what are the chances that it will cause weight gain. I won't be on it for that long of time. Is there anything I can do? I really can't deal with this. I can't exercise for a few days due to a very bad rash. I can't go out doors because it spread. Thanks.

I'm allergic to Amoxicillin too.
The doctors wouldn't of prescribed this to you if they thought it would be dangerous to your health. I'm sure you'll be perfectly fine.
If it does cause weight gain then it will only be a couple of pounds, it won't be a major weight gain. So that's nothing to worry about.
