My dad, he has no job. He complains about everyone and everything and does nothinng. When I argue with him to get a job we end up in a fist fight eventually. Well he does sell wood for 25 to 50 cents; he calls that a job. He stays home like everyday and does nothing. Im tired of it.
My mom works everyday, the last time she had a day off was 21 days ago. She smokes alot and shes also very stressed to keep this family going.
My brother and I, 14 & 12. Don't know what to do. I have to find someway to help my mom pay for the bills & everything. Any job ideas?
**just a minute ago my mom wanted to go to sleep for an hour before going on her 12 hour night shift and my brother and i were arguing to do the cat box. I always do it and im tired of it. My mom wanted to sleep for an hour shhe heard us yelling and now is outside smoking a cigarette. Then my dad walked in cursing to himself.
Let's start with your dad. Okay, he is currently unemployed and you try to get him a job. Here's the thing: You're arguing with him. Think about it, maybe, your dad is arguing with you because he knows he needs one and already feels down for not having a job in the first place. Don't make him feel even worse. Instead, try talking to him. Be like, "Hey dad. I know you like [insert whatever he likes to do]. They have this job, do you want to give them a call?"
Now, your mom. She works everyday nonstop and is the one trying to keep the family together. She is stressed out... You can try to help your mom out, you know, do the dishes, the laundry, (any chores your mom usually does). That should take some load off her shoulders. Also, she's going to be tired and (most likely) hungry after woring a 12 hour night shift, so try to cook something for her so she can eat and rest. This shows her that you appreciate her. And try to talk to her. Just start by asking how she is, how her job is, if she needs anything done...
As for you and your brother... You guys are a tad bit too young to be working... (I know some things you can do that will bring in some money, but to start it you need start-up money. Sorry, not much help there.) You shouldn't be worrying about meeting month's ends at 12 but you can to little things to help. (Try not to argue with your brother, he's going through the same thing as you and, if your mom sees you to bicker all the time, there you go. Adding more weight on her shoulders...)
-Cut down anything you don't need, extra channels on tv, DSL, and the extra things you don't really need. During summer, don't crank the ac to 74 degrees. Keep it around 88 and have a fan on low. It's a lot cheaper and it will keep you cool. During winter, wear thicker clothes so you can run the heater less. And especially... Don't be wasting your money on video games... They're fun but what else do you get out of it?--
Last but not least, you hate your family. Don't. Everything seems to be really tough right now, but that's what families do! They fight and yell but always stick together to get through these things. Trust me, I've been through it. Well, I hope I helped and you know what? Tomorrow is always a new day.
abby818 answered Thursday July 5 2007, 2:42 pm: I have some job tips. If you like animals, you could get a part time job and the vetrinarian center. If you like to clean, mabey you could work at a hotel as maid service. I worlk at a horse stable and make $110.00 for four days. I would love feedback. Good Luck!!
