Fed up with Vista Alright, so, I'm on my laptop. It's new and has Vista.
I don't mind Vista - but the way in stacks programs in the corner (in a sort of scroll box, rather than stretched across the entire task bar) pisses me off.
I do NOT mean grouping similar items together. I mean grouping ALL program windows together in the corner with a scroll bar next to it. It's only two programs wide and I'm fed up.
Does anyone know how to fix this stupid thing? I've tried a hundred different ways.

Go into the start menu.
Right click on "computer"
click "advanced settings"
click "performance settings"
click "adjust for best performance"
Should do the trick for you :) ]
There should be a little separator to the right of the windows. Here's some screenshots I've made to illustrate what you have to do. They're in XP, but the concept is the same. I can boot into my vista installation if this doesn't solve your problem(send me a private question if you need more help):

unlock the taskbar

locate the separator
