dell latitude D600

Question Posted Tuesday June 19 2007, 11:24 pm

i have a dell latitude d600 laptop, and the screen is loose. by loose, i mean when i open it to a certain angle, the angle to where i can see everything on the screen of course, it falls down. is there any way to tighten it?

also, the part of the back of the computer, circled in red on this picture, [Link](Mouse over link to see full location) , is coming apart. the part where it came together is seperating whenever i close the screen. is there any way to fix this? and if not, will it effect the computer in any way?

thanks!

For the screen, tighten all of the screws on the laptop. You might have to take off some rubber things to get at the screws. Take special care to get the screws near the hinges, since those are probably the loose ones.

I would leave the black thing alone unless it's actually falling off. I'm pretty sure that is just a status indicator, with lights on it, and it won't damage the computer if it falls off. If you want to, you can glue it back to the computer with clear superglue.
