piercings

Question Posted Tuesday June 12 2007, 11:40 am

can you after its healed? Do not expose your fresh piercing to oral contact or other bodily fluids. Use protective barriers such as condoms, dental dams, and finger cots—even if you are in a monogamous relationship.

I wouldn't advise it. They say not to have sexual contact (generally for 6 months) for a good reason- it makes for a high risk of infection. See, it takes at least that amount of time to FULLY heal, though it may SEEM healed sooner.

I'm not sure if protection will aid in the prevention of infection, but I would say chances are slim on that one. That's why I say I wouldn't advise it. To be sure, you would be best off contacting the professional who did your piercing.
