Do I really like him?

Question Posted Monday June 11 2007, 12:49 pm

My apologies for it being long

Ok, so I met this guy (S) in the beginning of this past school year (06-07). We became really close friends and now we're like best friends. I don't know if he likes me back, but during school, it kind of seemed like he did, or maybe he was just being a good friend (I was feeling really sick on field day and when we went inside the gym to watch the basketball game, he was sitting behind me on the bleachers and I was leaning in between in legs [NOT LIKE THAT] and at one time, he rested his head on top of mine. It REALLY looked like we were going out). But my other best friend, G (girl), used to go out with him and he was really obsessive/clingy/waaay too into the relationship. Sometimes, I think that I really really do like him, but then other times, I don't even think of him like that at all. But, the other day, G was telling me how S kept talking about G's friend in England who's coming in July to visit (J) and he's completely obsessed with J. When I heard that, I wasn't exactly devastated that he probably likes her, but I was kind of disappointed. I'm afraid if I like him, and if we go out and end up like how G was when she went out with S, it would ruin our friendship because now G's always on an "on/off hate S" thing. Do I really like him? I think of him a lot before I sleep; well, not a lot, but I do think about how it would be if we went out and stuff. And I keep wanting him to go with me and G when we go hang out, even though he hasn't yet (because I haven't seen him since field day, which was 3 weeks ago). I don't know...

When you said that you think about him sorta alot when you go to bed, but not really him but how it would be if you went out with him, it sounds like you like the idea of going out with him, but not him. I would stick w/ the friendship thing becuase he sounds like a great friend. If you really feel confident that you like him and he likes you, you could tell him that you like him but say that you just want to be friends with benifits, becuase then you could have freedom and not have him clinging on to you like he did to your friend G. When you like a guy, when you really really like a guy, you can definitly tell and there are no if's and's or but's about it. & you were right, if you did go out with him and it didnt turn out so well, you could end up hating him on/off or him hating you on/off like your friend G. So whatever choice you make, make sure you know all it's possible outcomes and feel 100% that it's the right choice. Hope i helped! :)
