best guy friend ignoring me now
so ive liked this guy for a long time (i'll call him john) and my best guy friend (or ex best friend, idk) i will call bob. so me and bob used to be really close like we would tell each other everything. he liked me for a long time, a few years, and then told everyone he got over me. i never had feelings for him.
so i told bob that i really liked john. john and bob were good friends. but bob claimed that john was just "a funny guy" so he doesnt really like him, he just liked to laugh at him. john is also very shy but when you get to know him hes not.
anyway recently john asked me out and i said yes, ive been so happy i cant contain it. and a week or so ago bob said he was done being friends with our group of friends. he ignored all of us but now hes only ignoring me. im not really making an attempt to talk to him because he was getting on my nerves a lot before.
now if he hangs out with us he always gets drunk first then just sits off to the side listening to his ipod. its pissing me off. my good girl friend liz talked to him and told me that the reason he has been drinking is because he hates seeing me and john together.
i think its totally selfish and over dramatic. if he was such a good friend why cant he at least try to be happy for me? ive never been this happy before. why is it all about him being so upset? its not like if i wasnt with john i would be with bob. i will never like bob.
what am i supposed to do? i feel bad but at the same time i dont mind not having bob around and im really enjoying being with john. i dont think bob is being fair. what do i do??

it sounds like bob still likes you a lot and doesnt understand the fact that you dont like him and that you really like john... yes he is being a little bit selfish but i think he is just hurt b'cos you like john and not him. maybe you should take bob aside and talk to him privatly about this, you might like not having bob around but if you push him futhure away you two might not be good friends again and later on you might miss it so i think you should talk to him. thats the only thing you can really do and if he is a true friend then he will understand. hope that helped...
