Question Posted Thursday May 24 2007, 10:22 pm

Okay, so im 14/f and my boobs have hard spots. Im very tall (5'9) and am fully developed except for my boobs (size 34 A). Two questions: will my boobs grow to at least a B, and what are the hard spots? Thanks so much

Most likely, the different consistency of tissues that you are feeling is normal. Breasts are made up of fat tissue that feels soft, and fibrous tissue that feels firm. Underneath the breast is muscle tissue (the pectoral muscle) that can be quite hard. Most women can feel lumpy areas in their breasts, often in the same place each time. Some women also develop transient tender lumps (small cysts) before their menstrual periods, and these lumps then shrink after the period is over.

However, the safest thing to do would be to have your breasts examined by your doctor or health professional. This way you can be reassured if the lumps you are feeling are normal or not, you can review the best way to do a breast self-exam, and you can ask any questions you have.

Also, there is no real way to tell how large you will grow. You could have a growth spurt at any moment! All you can do is wait and be happy with what you have.
