OMG TERRIBLE BODY PROBLEM!

Question Posted Thursday May 24 2007, 4:30 pm

Ok Well it's my grad this year but one day I was weairng a top to track and field and got tanned SO BAD! (Yeah I couldn't find a dolly site but thsi is the closest I could find in google, sorry. I coloured it, the red is supposed to be brown).

How can I remove the tanned spots?! I tried exfoliating. I'm not sure about the lemon thing though, does it really work?

I odn't want to tan the rest of my body because it's unhealthy and it'll look really bad (if it isn't bad enough already), see how bad I'll look at my grad in a dress with that?!

Way delayed answer?
What helps me [and it really helps me] is to put thin slices of cucumber on the tanned spot. Switch it when it gets warm with a new cold one.
If all fails, go get a tan.

And don't listen to the columnist below me--it's very bad for you to peel your skin...

And about the lemon juice--don't do it. It's acidic and even if you wash it off very well, when you go out in the sun, it will tan that little spot with the lemon juice on more than the rest of your body--it just makes it worse

well, whenever i get a hardcore tan is usually like, peels off.. so when you go to take a shower, scrub yourself where you're tan reallllyy hard.. and even scratch with your nails a little and the dead (tanned) skin will come off.. ir sounds weird but its not like it hurts or anything. just take a long shower and scrub your arms and tanned areas vigorously, and see if it peels.. thats what mine does, but i usually don't want it too lol. and in the meantime, since that won't work 100%, buy some bronzers and tanning lotion things so help even it out =) i'm sure you'll look fine ♥ good luck!!

Yeah there isn't a way to remove a tan. Just tan your whole body once. That can't do much harm that way it'll look a little even.

Try that lotion that the girl below me said.

Sorry, but there's no way you can safely remove a tan. The only think you can do is wait for it to fade over time.

Instead, why don't you just use an artificial tanning lotion? Use the tanning lotion all over your body and the fake tan can cover up your real one until it fades. Now that the ozone layer has a hole and people are trying to get skin-healthy......trust me, they've got tanning lotions that look just like the real thing.

EDIT: Do NOT listen to ONEXLOVEE!!!!! If you try to peel off dead skin like that and then go out in the sun, the exposed skin is COMPLETELY unprotected from UV rays, and the person will not only get badly sunburned, but will probably get skin cancer in later years....even if they put on sun block. Sun block does NOT automatically shield you from the sun, it just prolongs the damage. If your skin is completely unprotected because you tried to peel off the tan yourself, sun lotion is pretty much useless. Trust me, my mom is a dermatologist. I know what I'm talking about.
