At first we only wanted one, but we didn't want to separate them, so we ended up getting three! They are so cute, but are VERY messy and hard to clean up after. Make sure you have plenty of room outdoors to keep it. We started out with a smaller cage, but they grew to full size within 5 months, and we ended up having to buy a large pin to keep them in. Once they learned to fly we decided to let them go. They will stay close by as long as you keep feeding them. We were lucky and had a pond in our back yard, so they had water close by. Getting a duck in the summer time is a good idea. We got ours when it was cold outside, so we had to keep them inside until they were old enough to adjust to the cold temperature. Make sure if you keep them inside that you put towels down under the cage and if you place them in front of a wall, make sure you cover the wall with news paper first because they are hard to clean up after. I recommend looking around first to see where you can purchase duck food because you have to get it from a special place. Make sure you start them out with the starter duck feed (made for young ducks). When they get older you can also feed them cracked corn. Also, they need a special duck feeder for their water so they never run out. I will include a link that has a little more info if you're curious. Let me know if you have anymore questions!
