Error Message

Sometimes when i put my computer in hybernation mode this error message comes up:

A problem has been detected and windoes has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer.

If this is the first time you've seen this stop error screen, restart your computer. If this screen appears again follow these steps:

Disable or uninstall any antivirus, disk defragmentation or back up utilities. Check your hard drive configuration, and check for any updated drivers Run CHKDSK /F to check for har drive corruption, and then restart yout computer.

Beginning Dump of physical memory.

Contact your system administrator or technical support group for further assistance.



What does this error message mean??
Can someone please supply me wit any information on this please? Thanks heaps.

Error 0x00000024 indicates the disk is becoming corrupted. Back up all your data now, as you will likely need to reformat it within a few months. This is normal, and happens once ever 6 months to 2 years. To try to fix it, go to start, then run, type exactly this:

chkdsk /f /r

A window will pop up asking if you want to scan at restart, type "y"(without quotes) and press enter. Restart the computer as soon as you conveniently can, and it will check the computer. If that doesn't work, put your windows install disk(not recovery; if you don't have the windows disk, get it from your computer manufacturer) and type in start>run:

sfc /scannow

If neither option works, just set it to not hibernate in control panel>power options>hibernate, and uncheck hibernate.
