Cutting my own hair??

Question Posted Sunday May 6 2007, 10:52 pm

17/f. I have shoulder-length, thick wavy hair (dyed pink, red, and black currently) that I want to cut in a cool and punky way without paying a fortune. Ideally, i'd like it to be down to my ears and a little shaggy on the sides and in the front (where I can straighten it), and short enough to spike in the back. Are there any websites that have instructions on how to cut your own hair? Or any tips you'd like to offer? thanks a lot!

K

If you've never cut your hair yourself before, don't try to do something so complicated, especially if it's going to be short in the back, you might end up messing it up really bad. I wish I could do it for you, cause I cut some of my friends hair all crazy like that, but one of my friends just got her hair cut like that at one of those random asian hair/nail salons. Tell them you want it thinned and spiked in the back and I'm assuming by the "shaggy on the sides" you want long side bangs or something like that. Just tell them that, it shouldn't cost more than 20 bucks.

If I were you, I'd let a professional do it, but, haha, I tried cutting just my bangs once, YEAH. didn't work out. But, if you've ever cut someons hair before, or are pretty confident about it, then try googling it. its probably hard to find a website for a hairstyle like that, and if you've never like cut someones hair or your own hair before, then ehh I'd go and get it done, because that seems like a pretty tricky haircut.

And you can find cheap places anywhere, like I spend maybe 50 dollars of the cheapest? on my hair. But, then yet.. my mom takes my brothers to this little cheap place, and it only cost 5 dollars of the most.

So,yeah. I hope that helped.

i dont know where you live, but i got my hair cut saturday, and it was only 22$. i had hair down to my butt, and got it cut to the shoulders, and it was only 22, and it looks great. i dont suggest you cut it on your own. mainly b/c you dont have any training in it, and the way you want it seems hard to do. so i suggest, call around and ask how about how much it would be. hope i helped<3
